This was a real shock to read it left me thinking and a bit fearful. It is such a powerful poem. It lingers in the mind with quite a dire message.
Great poem!
Good one, Genie! I remember I climbed Rainier in ’75. Willi Unsoeld,
one of the first 5 Americans to summer Everest, was killed by an avalanche
on his 50th assent of Rainier. I met him when he spoke in in LA circa 1979.
