Sweet hawk of sky
wrap your wings around 
this cold planet
you can  see the rivers below
the fish are running scarce

Monday morning news
whale's belly filled with styrofoam
this plastic wrapped planet
takes my friends away
the oceans is filled with tears

Sky please don’t cry
the trees that look up
are dying from your tears
rain filled with acid,
kill forests when they fall

toxins in our air

make it poisonous

to breathe

all the stars are hidden

behind urban lights

Ancient redwood tree
a thousand years of history
wraps around your trunk
whisper wise words
as your forests disappear

My heart
is in suspension
a satellite
orbiting around
a troubled earth

Unanswered questions
shroud earth’s atmosphere
thousands of birds
drop dead from the sky…
time is growing old.
