a poem — all the words are from a dream….

I dream of spring
May.
the month I was born
lying on emerald green grass

I dream of winter
the snow
I’ve never felt

Fall is when the apples bite
of all the seasons,
the one I cannot forget
when you and I met
in the autumn wind

Then the seasons
puckered into change,
a taste
I had never known

A man loved me,
and then we forgot

We forgot
the paradise
we walked upon

So much happened in between
and now
it is coming back

Memory is a funny thing.

Forgotten in dreams
forgotten in language
it sleeps

What awakens it?

What makes light
tickle the sleeping mind

Laughter, perhaps

The joke is on me

Light as a feather,
dark as a raven’s wing
cunning and swift
it turns in the air
on a sunny day

Then the raven
flies back to me
through shattered windows

Raven
calling in a forgotten language

Forgive me
for the absent silence

The words inaudible
slack and clacks
from another world

an animal kingdom
I understand

but cannot speak

an animal kingdom
I understand

but cannot speak
