the weight of it…

Genie Nakano, Oct. 13, 2020

When the quarantine began in Los Angeles in March 2020 my hair was shoulder length. Today Oct.15, 2020–Thursday, my hair is almost to my waist and I’ve gained a few pounds along with it–“the weight of it”.

I love writing--It's my joy, my therapy--my confession. I'm a performer, dancer, yoga and meditation instructor, write a poetry column for Rafu Shimpo. Growth and love of life is a key to my happiness.

  1. Yes,Vincent. I hope my reply went to you. As I recall I said you must have been Japanese in another life. I appreciate your responses. It’s always good to know someone is “really” reading your posts. As it does take time and thought to write and form words. The only way we know someone is attending is if they respond with a few words. So once again–THANK YOU. Perhaps Presley will get us all together again in person. Who was the originator of our Wilson Chat?? I will let you know when my husband is out of the hospital. So far it looks Good.

  2. Genie…I wasn’t sure if my first comment went thru, so here’s my second comment to your lovely photo and your sincere feelings about body and health. Your Family’s health and your huge HEART…that’s all we care about !
Be strong and our prayers are with you in good spirits , and hopefully this COVID-19 will be controlled with a vaccine and we will have less outbreaks in the future. Be Well & Safe Genie! Onward, Vince
